Founders & Friends of Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge
Founders & Friends of Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) is a passionate group of Arvada citizens who helped to preserve the Two Ponds NWR over two decades ago. Founders & Friends is now working with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to further the Service's goal of “making wildlife conservation more relevant to American citizens and foster their engagement in and support of the NWR System.” Founders & Friends is an official “Friends” group approved by the Service.
Our mission is to support the Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge through efforts to:
conserve and restore native habitat and wildlife,
provide the public of a major metropolitan area with opportunities to experience wildlife and nature, and
promote awareness and appreciation of the National Wildlife Refuge System.
Two Ponds NWR is an oasis for wildlife located in an urban area. It covers 75 acres with various species of native flora and fauna. Each year, thousands of visitors enjoy wildlife-dependent recreation on the Refuge while developing a greater appreciation and awareness for conservation. Two Ponds is managed by the Service as part of the Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR Complex in the Denver Metro Area.
